CMA Entrance Exam

The purpose of the CMA Entrance Exam is to evaluate whether candidates have mastered the technical skills with respect to the following six functional competencies:

• Strategic management
• Risk management and governance
• Performance management

• Performance measurement
• Financial management
• Financial reporting

The emphasis of the exam is on the topics of management accounting, corporate finance, financial accounting, and taxation.

The CMA Entrance Exam is offered twice each year, in June and October. The exam is four hours in duration and is comprises approximately 120 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark for the exam is 60 per cent.

To be eligible to write the CMA Entrance Exam, applicants must have successfully completed a university degree, an overall average of 60 per cent or above, and coverage of the 16 CMA prerequisites (either through university studies or the CMA Accelerated Program).

Candidates must pass the CMA Entrance Exam to proceed to a CMA professional program such as the CMA Strategic Leadership Program or combined MBA-CMA Program.
