Daniel Clarke, CMA
Dan is the president of Helly Hansen Canada Ltd. In addition to serving on the board of CMA Nova Scotia since
2006, he is president of the Atlantic chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). Dan received his
CMA designation in 2003 and has a strong desire to give back to the professional organization that enabled
him to reach his true career potential. Dan is currently the first vice-chair of the board.
Peter Conrod, MBA, CMA
Peter is the regional vice-president of RBC Financial Group, Commercial Financial Services , Atlantic Canada.
He is a graduate of Dalhousie University with a bachelor of commerce, and also graduated from the Ivey School
of Business with an MBA. He is a fellow of the Institute of Commercial Bankers and has been a CMA since 1999,
winning the E. L. Whitman Gold Medal for outstanding scholastic achievement. His past volunteer positions
include chair of the YMCA of Greater Halifax Dartmouth, FEI International – Atlantic Chapter, and the Halifax
Industrial Commission. He was also a member of CMA’s National Certification Board and is currently second
vice-chair of the board.
Tyler Held, MBA, CMA, CIA
Tyler is the Director of Compliance and Internal Audit at Gammon Gold. He received the CMA designation in
Ontario in 1999 and then completed an MBA at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He also holds
a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Tyler has been
a member of the Board since 2006.
Glen LeBlanc, FCMA
Glen is the chief financial officer for Bell Aliant Inc. An active volunteer, Glen received UNICEF’s Champion
for Children Award, for outstanding community contribution and was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.
Glen completed his bachelor of commerce in 1989 at St. Mary’s University and received his CMA designation in
1994. In 2007, he was honored with the FCMA distinction in recognition of his continued involvement in the
community, with CMA, and in his career. He has been a member of the board since 2005, currently serving as
chair.
Shanna Lespere, CMA
Shanna is the deputy director of licensing and authorizations within the insurance department of the Bermuda
Monetary Authority. She holds a bachelor of science (honors) from Acadia University and received the CMA
designation in 1996. Shanna is committed to representing the interests of members and students in Bermuda and
has volunteered with the Bermuda Chapter in the past. She has been a member of the board of directors since
2006.
Sheila O’Leary, CMA
Sheila owns and operates two franchise businesses – the Bulk Barn, New Minas, and Midas Auto
Service Center, Halifax. She received her CMA designation in Alberta in 1984. Sheila is active in the affairs
of the Society, having been a member of the board since 2001. She has also served as a judge on the CMA
report to the board presentations, and as a mentor.
Byron Rafuse, CMA
As the controller for the province of Nova Scotia, Byron provides strategic leadership in the development of
corporate systems, financial and accounting policy, and financial statement presentation. Byron has a
bachelor of commerce from Saint Mary’s University and received his CMA in 1992. Byron has volunteered with
CMA in the past, serving as a mentor to CMA candidates and as a member of the board since 2005.
Jeffrey Sealy, FCMA
Jeff specializes in the area of business performance improvement, with the development of
strategic cost management solutions. He is the principal consultant with a Jamaica-based consulting firm,
Business Solutions Network. In addition to his current role, Jeff’s past experience includes work with KPMG
and Shell International Petroleum Company. Jeff was the first student in the eastern Caribbean to complete
the CMA program through distance learning, through the CMA Nova Scotia partner, and was the founding member
of the CMA Barbados chapter. He subsequently became the registrar for CMA in the region. Jeff has just been
awarded the FCMA designation in recognition of his career accomplishments and strong involvement with CMA and
in his community.
