Mutual Recognition Agreements

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)

CMA Canada and CIMA have entered into a mutual recognition agreement whereby qualified CMA Canada members will be recognized as members of CIMA and qualified members of CIMA will be recognized as members of CMA Canada.

Each applicant’s submission will be reviewed by the recipient body. Applicants will be required to make application to a CMA Canada provincial/territorial society/order in the province in which they are living and working, and must satisfy any unique admission requirements beyond those approved by CMA Canada.

Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA Australia)

We are pleased to announce that CMA Canada and the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia (CPA Australia) have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) that will enable CMAs and CPAs to gain reciprocal membership in each other’s organizations. The agreement, which comes into effect immediately, allows CMAs and CPAs to attain the accounting designation of the MRA partner with specified additional requirements.
